Teance is a local tea company from Berkeley, California, established to introduce true artisan teas.
Fresh, seasonal, handcrafted teas are personally selected from mountains of origin in Asia.
These single lots, unblended teas are showcased for their nuanced and complex tastes, reflecting
the climates in which they are grown. Each season, buyers from Teance travel to boutique, often
remote, high mountain farms, to taste and select these limited batches for our community and
tea aficionados.

White Peony Longevity Brows (White tea from Fujian, China) Full of silver, whole buds, and lush green leaves. Named after the beautiful peony flower for the highest grade, the plucked buds somewhat resemble a large silver eyebrow shape. One of the most highly regarded and the most popular of all White Teas, White Peony is alternately sun dried, then indoor hot air dried for natural processing. Its brew is slightly sweet and melon like, with a bright, fresh lingering after taste. Low Caffeine. |

Genmaicha (Green tea with popped rice from Uji, Japan) Known as the everyday green tea of Japan, this special grade is made with fine Sencha leaves and organic pop rice. Toasty, warming, and generally regarded as a comfort tea. Grown in Uji, near the Zen monasteries of Kyoto, home of the best hand crafted and shade grown teas in Japan. Medium Caffeine. |

Nepal High Elevation (Black tea from Kuwapani, Nepal) Grown on the Kuwapani plantation on the Himalayan Range, with the beautiful Makalu (at 27,765ft. the fifth highest mountain) overlooking the plantation. The plantation & manufacturing unit is spread over 100 acres at an altitude of 6,000 feet in Dhankuta District in the Eastern hills of Nepal.The taste of Nepal Black teas tend to be deeper and more robust than most black teas. This version is made more orthodox style with whole, twisted leaves. Higher Caffeine, may take cream and sugar. |

Old Grove Immortal (Oolong from Guangdon, China) Skillfully twisted and charcoal fire roasted to create a tea full of dark cinnamon notes finished with hints of honey. One of the oldest forms of oolongs in the world, its culture exceeding 1000 years in Southern China in an area called Phoenix Mountain. Many of the trees these oolongs are harvested from are well over 100 years old, and are therefore called Old Grove. The leaves are highly oxidized and baked, resulting in a dark, cured, woody brew with a hint of nutmeg. Medium Caffeine. |

Chrysanthemum Blossoms (Floral infusion from China) Lush whole white and golden chrysanthemum blossoms. Brewed it has a sweet slightly earthy taste. In Chinese medicine, this flower has cooling properties in the body. No Caffeine. |
